Nick Knight談：數位時代的影像創造

​在時尚透過紙質媒體傳播的時代， Nick Knight 就認為：“衣服如果動起來，會更好看“。2000年左右，網際網路進入了大家的生活，Nick Knight 就嘗試透過當時還正萌芽的低速網路，進行線上『時尚』直播。第一次，一秒只有一張畫面。

『要求一個年輕的設計師花費自己的（大量）金錢去辦展，在道德上與財務上來說都是一種錯誤。因為在經濟效益上，這不是他們將自己的創意展現給大眾最好的方法。』Nick Knight。

如今，時尚產業正在經歷變革，它不再被傳統媒體所佔有，許多短視頻平台崛起，使得有更嶄新、更快速的方式向大眾傳播。
Nick Knight 表示：”影片比靜態照片更具有故事性，是更好展示服裝的媒介”。

『今天，你拍一張照片，然後（透過任何手段）轉變成新的視覺。這不是攝影，是 something else。』 Nick Knight 。
『VR 、 AR 、人工智慧、機器人技術，都可以用來創造影像』Nick Knight。

『透過 AR 、人工智慧，我們正在用一種全新的方式在看這個世界。這也是為什麼，我會說攝影已經停滯不前，而影像創作（image-making）正在萌芽。』Nick Knight

如果，未經數位修飾的影像才稱得上攝影。那麼，時至今日，攝影確實已經死了，至少是奄奄一息。
也就是說，在未來如果只抱著傳統不放，很有可能就會被產業淘汰。

Today, you can take a picture and turn it into a new vision. It’s not photography. It’s something else. 
virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, robotics, all these things are part of image-making.
 Forcing a young designer to spend their money on a catwalk show is morally and financially wrong. It’s not for the benefit of the designer and not the best way to get their message across to the public.
 He’s a young designer who doesn’t quite know if he’s a fashion designer or an artist -- or whatever he wants to call himself.
Doing shoots across Zoom is totally appropriate. We’re looking at a completely new way of seeing the world. With augmented reality and artificial intelligence, we’re looking at a new world. It’s why I’m so careful to say that photography has stopped and image-making has started. 
 the fashion industry has to find a way to deal with it. It’s no longer about the power brokers.
 Life is finite; let’s do something we all love rather than something we’re forced to do to make some gentlemen in a suit more rich.
 you have to try and see life in a different way. It’s not just about making more and more money.
